Melbourne
Royal 2004
Ashley
and I made the long trip to Melbourne with Tassie and the new
float which was finally finished the night before we left!
Tassie was awarded 6th place in the Open Galloway 14.2-15hh. However
Ashley and Tassie combined to win the 14 years girl rider and
went on to win CHAMPION GIRL RIDER 14-18 years! Well done Ashley
and Tas never fails to strut his stuff (he loved that victory
lap round the main arena.)
On the way home we picked up Bullseye our newest addition to Redlands
who has now settled in well and hopefully will do some shows next
year.
Thanks to the Metheralls who hosted us in fine style on our visit
to Melbourne. They have some beautiful young riding ponies at
their property at Springhurst and we were lucky enough to see
Syon Splendour who is just gorgeous in the flesh.
EFA HOTY 2004
Tassie
was awarded TOP TEN in the Open Galloways and was ridden by Ashley
to win CHAMPION YOUNG EQUESTRIAN GALLOWAY. Ashley also got 3rd
in her rider class and rode The Heights China Doll to win the
Champion Newcomer Pony. Congratulations also to Jessie Castle
who had much success in the led and ridden Show Hunter Galloways.
Spring
camp 2004
Another
successful camp finished! Our campers were Yasmin, Paris, Java,
Melissa, Niamh, Lilly, Peta, Courtney and Jessie and Ashley came
to help keep everyone under control. Our campers enjoyed lots
of jumping and riding. Our team competition was the closest ever
with ‘The Horses’ led by Melissa winning by 2 points!
Paris won our Australian Idol competition singing “I am
beautiful”, Niamh won our marshmallow competition and we
also enjoyed watching Shrek 2.
Jess and Ashley did a great job making over Top Deck and Ojay
in preparation for the riding pony show this month! No doubt they
will both look fabulous. This will be Top Decks’ first show.
New
Horse
Our
school now has another horse in the chestnut mare Mona Lisa (Lisa
for short). Lisa is very quiet and seemed to enjoy all the attention
she was getting over the camp!
Winter
camp 2004
Our winter camp was attended by Java, Jacinta, Grace, Niamh, Mikaela,
Olivia, Sharnie, and Rachael. Our helpers were Paul Slattery and
Caitlin Anderson so thanks to them! We had lovely weather and
everyone had heaps of fun with loads and games and competitions.
Our marshmallow comp was won by Niamh. Our pyjama comp was won
by Rachael and Grace. Grooming comp was won by the Ponies (Jacinta,
Mikaela, Sharnie and Rachael). Our very first “Australian
Idol” comp was won by Mikaela who sung a lovely rendition
of Shannon Noll’s ‘What about me’ followed by
‘Geenie in a bottle.’ Overall our teams competition
was won by The Giddiups, Java, Grace, Olivia and led by Niamh,
they each won a lovely Redlands Stables hat to take home. Hope
to see everyone at our camps in the springtime!
SYDNEY

in the turnout class 12-15yrs.
Autumn
Camp
Our autumn camp was a great success. It was attended by Lilly,
Niamh, Java, Alexandra, Sharnie, Olivia, Amy and Becky. Ashley
came to help everyone out as well. Top Deck and Sparky definately
enjoyed the extra handling they got with Ashley who was very busy
giving them makeovers. Our team competition was won by "The
Halters" which consisted of Alex as team leader, Niamh, Lilly
and Becky. We got to practice a fair bit of jumping this camp
as well as our usual games. We also got to watch "The cat
in the hat" which everyone enjoyed. Keep an eye out for the
dates of our winter camp, they will be online soon!
