We welcome to Redlands Shelby and Jenna Bragg who have taken over the lease on Raleigh Mignonette. What lucky girls, Ice Cream is such a great pony to start you on the road to success! Shelby and Jenna will be attending pony club and shows with Ice Cream in 2009. Pictured is Ice Cream all decked out in her new colour- purple!
Another new face at Redlands is Salisbury Something Special aka “Coco”. Coco is joining our show team for 2009 and she is owned by Salisbury Stud. I am sure she will have a successful career before going back to stud as a broodmare.
Our 2009 camps are almost full so get in quickly if you would like to attend! Don’t forget to start planning your routines for the show as well- and thinking up those fabulous fancy dress costumes!
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas, and also a safe one. Enjoy a break because 2009 is going to be a massive year! Thanks to all the parents who have worked so hard this year to ensure the continued success of the Redlands girls.
Foaling news- As luck would have it, in the middle of getting ready for the Pacific Coast Championships on Saturday night, Top Deck decided it would be a great time to have her foal! Java, Jessie, Niamh, Mon and I were beside ourselves with excitement to get to see all the action! “Mitzy” as we have named him was born at 8pm, and he is just beautiful. He is Toppy’s first foal, so he is pretty tiny, he might even end up under 12.2hh. “Mitzy” is by Lemonshill Top Note, a Welsh B stallion standing at Rotherwood Stud in the UK. This baby is so beautifully marked, bay, with four white socks and perfect diamond on his head. Well done Toppy, she is enjoying motherhood so far!
Katie Impey sent through some pictures of Redlands Rio, he is looking very well indeed, Katie has renamed him “Louie”.

Congratulations to our two girls who attended the Zone 24 Jamboree. Java Jacobson was awarded Champion in the 9 years age group and Jessie Payne was awarded Reserve Champion in the 10 years age group. Well done girls!
Some great results from our team at the National Stud Pony show held at SIEC. Well done to Champion rider under 17 years Java Jacobson and reserve Champion Alice Webber.
I also took a quick trip to Melbourne and visited my new foal “Norah” (pictured right) who is an absolute darling. She looks very similar to Ojay at the same age but very pretty and girly! She has the most divine face. I look forward to seeing her grow up. Rage looks blissfully happy as well with her new daughter!

What a fantastic weekend we have had!
Starting Friday at the NSW Show Horse Council Horse of the Year Show- Redlands Outrageous took out the Champion Newcomer Show Hunter Pony, then came back to win Champion Preliminary Show Hunter Pony. Ojay missed most of his newcomer season due to EI- so naturally I was thrilled to win one of his only newcomer classes! Saturday he came back to be placed in the top eight of the open show hunter ponies- a bit more experience needed there but a great effort for his first Horse of the Year.
Java Jacobson rode her new pony Sheffield Park Juliet to place fourth in the amateur owner pony from a huge field. Then Java rode Alice Webber’s Mirinda Kingsway in her rider 9 and under 12, making it through to the finals and going on to win RUNNER UP JUNIOR RIDER OF THE YEAR. Java’s first Horse of the Year Show, what a fantastic result! This qualifies Java for the Grand Nationals in 2009. Well done Java, who has been training at Redlands since she was 4 years old, what an effort. I couldn’t be happier!
Java took Ice Cream out on Sunday to the Tall Timbers Interclub Day where she was awarded Champion in the 9 years age group. A huge effort in very hot weather, congratulations to Java and her hard working and supportive parents.
Some great results for our small team, stay tuned for more!
It’s a girl!! Wednesday the 8th of October darling old Rage (26 years of age) finally brought me the black filly I have always wanted from her! The baby has been named “Norah” and her show name will be Redlands Replica. I hope she turns out just like her mum! I couldn’t be happier with our new addition. She is in Victoria with Di Jose at Salisbury Stud at the moment, thank you so much Di for all your help with Rage. This filly is by Ascot Toy Soldier and is a half sister to Redlands Outrageous and Redlands Rockafella.
Redlands Romance (Top Deck) is due to foal early December to Lemonshill Top Note (UK) I am very excited to see this foal as well (another black filly would be nice but I’m not holding my breath!)

More happy news when Jessie Payne was awarded Reserve Champion Junior Rider at the Castle Hill Spring Show. Jessie rode Redlands Rockafella and these two are just getting better and better! Well done Jess.
Congratulations to Java Jacobson (pictured left) who has been improving rapidly with her riding. All her hard work paid off at the Singleton Show where she was awarded 1st in a strong class on riders 9 and under 12 years and went on to be awarded Champion Junior Rider. Well done Java, the first of many I’m sure! Thanks also to Alice Webber and Mirinda Kingsway the super galloway who Java rode to her win. |

I took Redlands Outrageous out west for a show run, which was a great learning curve for him! We attended five shows over two weeks and he took out several championships, so I was very impressed with him.
I have purchased a gorgeous new TB mare to breed some Galloways with, Federation Blue is a chestnut mare with three socks and a blaze, standing 16.3hh. She will be put to a riding pony stallion this season. All her foals so far have inherited her fabulous movement and plenty of chrome so I look forward to breeding with her.

Congratulations to Jessie Payne who rode Redlands Rockafella to win Champion Junior rider at the Gosford Ag show. Their first official outing together! They also won the Central Coast and Lower hunter Youth Development award. Congratulations Jessie, what a fabulous result.
Congratulations to Katie Impey who is the lucky new owner of Redlands Rio. Poor old Storm was not getting too much attention here, but he is now residing at Centennial Park in Sydney. I’m sure he is enjoying the great facilities there and all the attention he is getting from Katie. Best of luck with him Katie, he will be a fabulous hack for you.
Java Jacobson had her first outing on Juliette and came home with Champion in her age group. Well done Java!

A few new additions to our team! Niamh Ramsay has purchased the lovely small hack Bayview Breathtaking, a full brother to Grand National Champion Bayview Midnight Jazz. “Tyson” is a fabulous mover and what a temperament, nothing worries this one! Surely a champion in the making at only 3 years old. He will be shown as a newcomer next season. Congratulations Niamh.
Java Jacobson has purchased Sheffield Park Juliette, a very pretty riding pony mare to campaign in showing and dressage. This pair will be hard to beat once they are going, I look forward to their first outing. Juliette is a full sister to Sheffield Park Romeo. Java’s family has also purchased Niamh’s Galloway Redlands Rockafella, who has been leased to Jessie Payne. Jessie has been having a great time on Sparky so far and will be competing in shows and pony club. Jessie’s sister Lucy has taken over the ride on Charisma.
Pictures to come shortly!

A big congratulations to Alice Webber and Mirinda Kingsway who won Champion Show Hunter Galloway at the 2008 SHC saddlehorse and riding championships at SIEC on the weekend. Alice rode Will to complete a foot perfect workout which won them the title and qualifies Will for the Grand Nationals 2009. Well done Alice and Will!

Congratulations to all our girls who have been doing so well in shows recently, especially Jessie Payne who did so well at Gosford Show on 'Smartie'. Thanks to Jess Castle for letting little Jess ride him!
I was lucky enough to ride Balledor Stud's Willowcroft Regal Celebrity at the St Ives Show, where he won his ridden stallion class.
'Regal' is an absolute delight to ride, I just love him to bits. St Ives was his first Ag show so many more to come in his future. Regal is standing at stud this season at www.balledor.com

Congratulations to Megan McGillivray on the purchase of “Euston Playwright” her beautiful new Galloway. I’m sure Deano and Megs will have lots of success together starting their show career!

I am very pleased to announce another new addition to Redlands, and one I have been wanting for a long time now! Mirinda Silver Knight is a grey colt, currently one year old, with four white socks and a blaze. He should mature small Galloway. ‘Archie’ is by Ninfield Minks Supreme, sire of Mirinda Eyeliner, Mirinda Touch of Mink, and Mirinda Versailles. His dam is Kirreway Tranquility, making Archie a half brother to Royal and National Champions including Kirreway Explorer, Masterpiece of Astral, Mirinda Jack of Diamonds, and of course our own Paint the Stars of Astral. Let’s hope Archie can follow in his very successful sibling’s footsteps, and I look forward to a very successful saddle career!
A very big congratulations to Alice Webber and her family! Alice won Reserve Champion Rider 15 and under 17 years at the Autumn SHC Show on Saturday, which qualifies her for the 2009 Grand Nationals! What a fabulous result, and Will is certainly proving his worth. Well done Alice.
Another Champion for Java Jacobson at Bouddi Interclub on Sunday, (despite missing one of her classes!) Lily Cameron, Mikaela Anderson and Jessie Payne also attended and won several ribbons. Lucy Payne competed in the tiny tots event and won this class, well done Lucy! (Pictured is Jessie, Java, Lily and Mikaela at Bouddi Interclub Day.) |
Some wonderful results from our girls on the weekend at the SIEC Super Show, congratulations to everyone who attended. Many more shows coming up so it will be pretty full on for a while!
Kimberley Park Miss Kim is confirmed in foal to Ascot Toy Soldier, Rage is 26 years years old now so I look forward to what could be her last foal. Redlands Romance is confirmed in foal to Lemonshill Top Note (UK) a lovely Welsh B stallion with plenty of chrome, this will be her first foal, so very exciting!
Redlands Raindrops will also be joining us at home shortly, she is now rising four years old and ready to start her training. Raindrops and Merivale Park French Lace will be trucking it up together later this month!

Well we’re finally back to the shows and thank goodness for that! Hopefully not long now before things return to normal. We have five horses entered and accepted for Sydney royal so should be a great show. Keep an eye on the website for the Redlands Show program, to be held in the Autumn School Holidays.
Pic: Jessie Payne and Java Jacobson both had success at the Hawkesbury and Hills show.

I am pleased to announce a new addition to the gang, and a very beautiful one at that. “Merivale Park French Lace” is a taffy filly, by Wedgenock Coffee Pot (imp) out of Fairley Camilla (imp) who is a full sister to Langtree Stud’s exceptional stallion Fairley Temptation. What gorgeous breeding, and “Claudia” as she is to be known will make a fantastic addition to our team. She will be coming home once she is weaned in about March next year. Thank you to Judy Ivory for letting us buy this lovely filly. I can’t wait to get her!!

Here she is pictured with Ice Cream displaying her trophies. Well done Java, you are the greatest. |
