Australian National Hunter Show
A great weekend at the Australian National Hunter Show. Java Jacobson and Redlands Outrageous were awarded Champion Amateur Owner Show Hunter Large Pony, Champion Open Large Show hunter pony, and went on to be awarded Supreme Champion Hunter of the Show. Java had over a thousand dollars worth of prizes to bring home too! Well done Java, good to see all your hard work being rewarded.
Salisbury Masterpiece
Salisbury Masterpiece has commenced his show career with outstanding success. He recently attended the NSW Riding Pony State Show and was awarded Champion Led Show Hunter. He behaved like an absolute trouper, I was so proud of him! I am really looking forward to taking him out under saddle next year.
Past Horse News
News from David Simpson who purchased my gorgeous mare Phoebe (Federation Blue). She has just had an amazing palomino colt. It is the first palomino stud book thoroughbred born in the southern hemisphere! Out of Phoebe, I’m sure he will be a champion. Congrats David.
May
Some great results from Sydney and Bathurst Royals! Kolbeach Promise was awarded Reserve Champion Open Large Pony, which was a huge thrill, congratulations to Karen Hendriks. Bathurst saw Java Jacobson excel on Redlands Outrageous, winning Champion Show Hunter Pony and then going on the be awarded Supreme Champion Show Hunter! Jenna Bragg rode Merivale Park Angels Song to win the leading rein, and Taylah Ashbrook rode her Sanlirra Quail to 2nd place in the leading rein. This qualifies both for the 2012 Grand Nationals! Redlands Rainstorm was awarded 2nd place in the novice pony 13.2-14hh and then won his open pony 13.2-14hh on the last day. Jessie Castle was awarded Champion Novice Adult Rider, well done Jess. A successful show for all!
April
Congratulations to David Simpson who is the lucky new owner of Federation Blue. I was very sad to let Phoebe go, but I still have wayyyy to many horses! Phoebe is back in foal and doing great. I look forward to updates!
Redlands Raindrops has also been sold to Helen Clark of Victoria to be used as a broodmare. Congrats Helen, I am sure she will have some amazing foals.
Some great show results recently, with Promise going Runner up Open Large Pony at the Grand Nationals, and Ojay going Top ten is his class! (pictured left) Thanks to Sienna Bergersen for riding Prommie to win Champion Childs Pony at the National Pony of the Year Show, she did a fantastic job. Shelby Bragg also jumped aboard Del Lee Oscar (pictured right) who travelled all the way from Western Australia to win Runner Up First Ridden Pony of the Year at the National Pony Of the Year Show. Well done Shelby!
Another new addition to Redlands for Jenna Bragg who has purchased the wonderful “Mr Music” what an awesome pony! Congratulations Jenna.

February
We welcome a new addition to Redlands Stables- the beautiful Salisbury Masterpiece. I saw this gorgeous boy on my last visit to Victoria and begged Di to let me take him! A true hunter Galloway, “Sherman” is three years old and half brother to Salisbury My Guy, Grand National Champion. Thankfully Di agreed and sent him up. Once he arrived I became a little concerned- he sailed over all our fences with the greatest of ease, which made catching him when he didn’t want to be caught a little difficult! However his career as a working hunter looks set! I sent him to Adam Sutton to be broken in while I was away over Christmas, and I am happy to report after only three weeks Sherman looked like he was born to be ridden (and has since decided to stay in whatever paddock he’s put in.) Since having him home he has just been awesome- calm, unflappable, and rides like a seasoned horse. I can’t wait to take him out soon.
Redlands Rainstorm has attended a couple of shows so far- 8yo Shelby Bragg rode him at the Matcham Valley closed Interclub day and won several ribbons including the handy pony class (who’d have thought??) We then took him to Pacific Coast on the weekend and Shelby rode him again to win 3rd in a big newcomer pony class. Shelby then decided she would go in her rider (Bullseyes first time in an indoor arena) where they worked the house down. Very impressive stuff for such a tiny rider and a pony who has only been to a couple of shows. Go Shelby and Bullseye.
Kolbeach Promise and Redlands Outrageous also attended Pacific Coast, Prommie won runner up large pony and Java and Ojay got top ten in both the hunter pony and the rider. Well done to everyone. Many more shows coming up so stay tuned for more results!
January
The new year is well underway and we are all looking forward to some shows again! I hope everyone had a happy Christmas and a fantastic New Years Eve.
The last show we attended last year was the NSW All Welsh Show, where Kolbeach Promise was sashed Champion Partwelsh 12.2hh ne 13.2hh and Wattles Jezabelle was sashed Reserve Champion partwelsh under 12.2hh. Congratulation to Madison Dawson who rode Nanteoz Autumn Glade to win Runner up leading rein/ first ridden pony. Go Bug and Madi!
Camps were fantastic fun as usual, the girls all had a blast.
A new addition to Redlands Stables with “Beau” who is being leased by Natalie Ashby. Congratulations Nat, you are going to have an amazing time with him.
